Well, I have looked everywhere for the solution, but it plagues me still.
I have an ANS500, and I stripped everything out but the original 32MB. The
firmware is 1.1.22, and I boot into it just fine. I have tried running the
installer (both the original and the dusers) from floppy, and I run into
the Default Catch! problem every time I ask it to boot.
I tried the <begin ['] boot catch 1000 ms cr again> command, and that
doesn't work. I've set the load-base variable to 100000--no luck. I have
used the kbd/wall outlet to turn on/off the machine. I have removed the
battery (but not for longer then 15min).
Is this problem an OF related issue? What version is the firmware on
successful boots?
If anyone has gotten the 500 to boot, tell me how. I think the next try is
to load onto an external HD on another machine and transfer the drive (and
a new kernal). I don't really want to do this, but...
Any info is appriciated.
