Hi,
   I had the same problem with the dusers installer.coff.. infact I found
that:

- the installer would lock up right after you select 'hard drive' or 'ftp'
install
- the cdrom would not mount and there was no way to back out once you
  selected a cdrom (this could have been because my cdrom was bad, but it
  works in other machines so????)
- the nfs install doesn't seem to properly mount nfs shares. I did not
  really try very hard on this one as it was a shot in the dark, but on
  my first go it didn't want to work.

You'll want to install using the installer.coff from linux-ppc or wherever
(I used the one from ftp.dodds.net I think)
