Reply to: Errors with Internal drive
I managed to use the 'recipe' to install the external drive.
Here's what I get when I try and start up with the internal drive in place:
I only have 3 partitions on the internal drive. It appears to me that my problem is with the appearance of the sda6 and sda7
I'm unable to get past this, and can't mount, even If I put in the root password instead of hitting control-D
Partition check:
sda: sda1 sda2 sda3
sdb: sdb1 sdb2 sdb3 sdb4 sdb5 sdb6 sdb7 (root) sdb8
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly
Freeing unused kernel memory: 96k init 32k prep
INIT: version 2.74 booting
Activation swap partitions
swapon: /dev/sda6: No such device or address
hostname: linux1.cyberbackup.com
Checking root filesystems.
Parallelizing fsck version 1.10 (24-Apr-97)
[/sbom/fscl/ext2] fsck.ext2 -a /dev/sda7
fsck.ext2: No such device or address while trying to open /dev/sda7
Possibly non-existent or swap device?
