My hunch about OSX on ANS is "No."
I doubt that Apple feels there are not enough machines out there to justify
the engineering effort. Of course that is a situation of their own creation
since they orphaned the ANS very early on and then killed it without ever
really trying to understand the market or how to market the product. The
team that built the box really knew what they were doing, unfortunately the
people above them in the Apple hierarchy at the time were morons. I'd name
names if it were useful but to my knowledge the culprits are all gone from
Apple anyway so it wouldn't do any good.
What I find ironic is that Apple will soon be asking all of us to follow
them down yet *another* UNIX road after the last four were either dead ends
or never even paved. I truly hope they get it right this time but for my
own sake I'll retain some healthy skepticism.
I will ask the question (OSX on ANS) around MacWorld Expo this week though.
