I don't meen to complain but I'm having a hell of at time getting the patch
to actually patch, I keep getting:
[[root@ans kernel]# patch < linux-pmac-2.2.1-to-2.2.1.ans.diff
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you should have used the -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -r -c -N linux-pmac/drivers/net/Config.in

All the files are there and this is on a virgin 2.2.1 source tree that I
originally downloaded from ftp.kernel.org. I've tried it on the source tree
that I used to compile the 2.2.1 kernel I now have running - didn't work. I
then bunzip'ed and tar -xvf'd a new kernel source tree (in another location)
and tried the patch a number of times there - no go.
I've tried entering the full pathname to the file - no go. I've tried using
the various -p0 and -p1 - no go. I've tried without full pathnames.
Incidentally, I cannot get the precompiled vmlinux_2.2.1.cirrus.gz to even
boot my machine and have gone back to my 2.2.1-homegrown.
Any ideas? Is there a split up patch or patched sources that I can just
chuck in my source tree?
Thanks!
