Smart People,
I've got an ANS 500 with a clean install of LinuxPPC R4.1 using the
instructions from Scott Every and Jean Robertson (thanks to both!) and
Scott's ins.4.coff installer. I was able to intstall from CD to internal and
restarted with a kernal panic. Solved that problem by getting Scott vmlinux
from the R4 ftp directory. My problem now is getting X to start. When I type
startx, I get the following error:
Fatal server error:
Failed to establish all listening sockets
giving up.
xinit: Invalid argument (errno 22): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
I have no clue what this means since I very new with Unix and LinuxPPC.
Anything to get me started would be great. I had R4 installed before, and X
worked, useing the HellFire installer, but I really don't want to start all
over again :(
TIA,
Steve
