"unknown image format" error message

Hi folks,

First I had a 4GB IBM Drive which came with the ANS 700 which gave me
a big headache until I've seen the safe:y option of the driver on
this mailing list. But I already replaced the drive.

Second I had a 9GB Atlas IV disk as boot disk and it didnt let me
install quik on it. Well actually it was installed but I think open
firmware doesnt like that disk since if I say probe-scsi1 it does
show a device on SCSI ID 2 but it doesnt list its name where as all
other disks tell their name.

Third I used a 4GB IBM Disk (not the one which came with the unit). I
reinstalled everything. Now I got a 2.2.7ans kernel compiled and I
can boot this version from floppy without any problems. I dont need
any driver options and open firmware likes this drive.

If I use quik to install the boot block, it looks fine.
If I then boot to the disk, I get the quik boot prompt.
If I then select a boot image I've compiled, I get "unknown image format".

I'm really puzzled what is unknown about this format. I've tried
every logical image in the source tree but none of them seem to be a
recognized image format.

I've tried the

/usr/src/linux/arch/boot/zImage
/usr/src/linux/arch/boot/vmlinux.gz
/usr/src/linux/arch/coffboot/vmlinux.gz
/usr/src/linux/arch/coffboot/zImage (which is a logical link to vmlinux.coff)
/usr/src/linux/arch/coffboot/zvmlinux

Now can someone point me to the right image?

I also tried to put quik.conf to / as well as all the other image
files as it was mentioned previously on this mailing list. I also
tried to put it on to another mini "boot" partition. But at the end,
I did got less far or to the same point.
