I have reinstalled Linux from the Linux PPC CD, and this time around I installed everything.
I copied the System.map and the vmlinux from Scott's FTP site and installed them before running Quik.
I can get it to boot from internal drive.
I can't get Startx to work
I can't get Xconfigurator to not give me an error.
When I choose 640x480 8 Bit I have several times gotten a pattern screen with the X on it, but this screen disappears, and Xconfigurator tells me that I have an error.
When I try an run Startx, the last lines of error messages include:
_FontTransSocketOpen: socket() failed for unix
_FontTransSocketOpenCOTSClient: unable to open socket for unix
_FontTransOpen: transport open failed
failed to set default font path 'unix/:-1'
Fatal server error: could not open defalut font 'fixed'
