Hello,
My name is Nickolay. I am System Administrator in RightNet Ltd. in Bulgaria. We have an ANS 500/132 with 1 Ultra2 SCSI HDD - 4Gb, 96Mb RAM (soon it will be 128). I want to install Linux on it. But I have a problems. So here is the situation:
I formated HDD on MacOS with standat HFS (not HFS+)! I maked 3 partitions:
1. /install 600Mb there is RedHat directory
2. swap 128Mb swap partiotion
3. / Other 3,2Gb root partition
I put the RedHat Directory in /install partition, get the vmlinux.coff and start to boot from a Floppy disk. in Open Firmware (OF) I was type:
0>boot fd:vmlinux.coff
and he line start to spin. I dropped into the insaller. The HDD was detected but when the system try to mount root dir... :
