I had the same problem. Here is what Marco Jordan sent me, which did it all for me:
Don't know if you've made any progress on your problem, but I had the same problem you have. Probably you just replaced the kernel and the system.map with the 2.2.11 version
of Scott Every. I did that too and had the same problems with the videocard. Because I use the ANS700 as a fileserver I didn't mind, but my problem was that the DAT
tapestreamer didn't work. The problem is that you don't have the right 2.2.11 modules.
Well, yesterday I couldn't sleep, so I did go to work at 5.30 AM and downloaded the source and the patches using a macintosh, downloaded the files using netatalk to the
server and made my own kernel. Don't get scared, I am not a Linux expert (although I have learned a lot during the last few weeks).
I copied the files to a new directory. The files are in .tgz format. used gzip to unzip the files. After that, two new files where there in .tar format. Unzip them with the
tar command. After that you will have some knew files and directories. Somewhere on your HD there will be a directory called 2.2.11. You will find a file called Makefile (or
something like that). Then use the commands:
make dep
make clean
make zImage
make modules
make modules_install
Replace the old kernel and system.map with the new ones and restart the server. Start the Xserver and just go wild. My ANS is working completely, tapestreamer included. At
7.30AM my server worked!!!!!!!
Should you have any problems please contact me.
Succes!!!!
