Hi,
I've just tried to install an ANS server with YDL.
The installation seems to have been successful. The only problem I got
was during configuring X windows. It was not able to get the right
settings, so I quit it to deal with this later.
Now when I try to boot with the vmlinux.coff file I get the following
message after detecting the scsi disk:
Warning: unable to open an initial console
Kernel panic: Not init found
Try passing init= option to the kernel
I am not very familiar with Open Firmware (I saw this ANS server for the
first time yesterday :-), so I do not really know where to go from
here.
The command I used to boot was (like I'm told in the YDL readme):
boot fd:vmlinux.coff root=/dev/sda1
The installer program told me the following after installing the system
files:
To boot linux
set root device in BootX to /dev/sda1
Uncheck RAMDISK option
I do not know how to unset the RAMDISK option, but I doubt that this causes
the problem I have.
I will be very happy for any help!
Best regards,
Peder Godvik
